The company is rapidly expanding its presence in the field of drug discovery and development with its AutoChem Strategic Business Unit. Mettler Toledo AUTOCHEM provides laboratory instruments to research scientists in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and chemical industries helping them discover and develop new chemical compounds, allowing them to bring new products to market faster. Our Field Service Engineers represent the Mettler Toledo standard of a ‘Trusted Advisor’ to our customers. You will conduct on-site installations, provide customer training (hardware, software and limited applications), perform equipment repairs and preventive maintenance for assigned instrumentation. You will also support and word in collaboration with North American Service Operations, Depot Repair, Field Service, Sales, Customer Service and Product Management.
Your responsibilities would include:
- Performing on-site installations, repairs, upgrades, and maintenance of AUTOCHEM instrumentation including infrared reaction profiling equipment, Supercritical Fluid Chromatography systems, laser crystallization monitoring equipment, and automated lab reactor systems.
- Communicating customer issues with the sales and support teams on a routine basis. Independently managing hardware and software projects.
- Effectively prioritizing, scheduling, and tracking open service issues to satisfactory completion.
- Giving feedback on non-conformance issues for quality improvements
- Managing field inventory through the use of a variety of software tools
- Exhibiting general software literacy and knowledge of Windows-based operating systems
- Reporting scheduling, utilization, expense, and critical issues as required
- An associate's degree in electronics or a related field.
- Two years of military or commercial experience or equivalent education in an electrical engineering environment with a demonstrated ability to solve problems related to electronic, electrical, mechanical, & computer systems.
- Extraordinary customer service skills and communication skills - both oral and written.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
